Renovation of a Clinker Folkboat

The 25ft clinker built Folkboat was hauled ashore onto our large trailer.  The boat was suffering from heavy weed encrustation and fouling to the bottom.  This was removed by using our high pressure water jet machine.

The mast was unstepped using our gantry, and the boat moved into our workshop.

The topside varnish was in very poor condition and all coatings were removed back to bare wood.  Repairs were also needed to several planking scarphs. This was followed by the application of number of coats of the Sikkens Stain system.

The bottom was sanded and primed followed by two coats of antifoul.

The rejuvenation complete, the mast was stepped and the boat launched to the water.
